There’s a site I found today ( payscale.com ) that allows you to enter your job title and country etc. and it gives you an estimate of how you much you should be paid.  For example, Australian forklift operators earn  between $17.20-$22.33 per hour with overtime $27.22-$34.39 per hour.

It’s interesting to play with & it can show the value of becoming certified in a number of areas including getting forklift license.
